Getting There

By Air
Benin doesn’t have its own air carrier but does have scheduled flights from other countries. There are direct flights to Benin from cities in Russia, France, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and the UK. The international airport is in the city of Continuo, 5km away from the city centre. Taxis and car-hire facilities are available to take you to the city.

By Rail
Other countries do not as yet have rail links with Benin. Niger is constructing one from Niamey to Parakou.

By Road
The option of driving in from Niger, Ghana and Togo is a good one because good roads link with Benin. Buses and taxis are also available on these routes.

By Sea
Shipping companies have cargo services docking at the two main ports of Benin, Porto Novo and Cotonou.
